EVERY MOMENT COUNTS
In 2014 Walt Bohn, an Army engineer, Veteran & Bridgeland resident, designed Bridgeland Veterans Memorial, a park which would feature a memorial with the names of Bridgeland Veterans as well as critical details about the various key wars in U.S. history. Inspired by this park design, in February 2015 a group of Bridgeland residents created a nonprofit corporation The Bridgeland Community Supports Veterans, Inc. (“TBCSVI”) dedicated to the building of a Veterans Memorial Park honoring Bridgeland Veterans for their service. In addition, the corporation would support Veterans and educate our citizens. In pursuit of this mission TBCSVI hosts an annual Veterans Day Festival, a Memorial Day Service, and a picnic at Camp Hope. Turkeys are given to all Bridgeland Veterans at Thanksgiving, and funds have been provided to Veterans in need. To support these activities, funds have been raised by holding galas and races, and by the generous donations of those who support the mission. Each October TBCSVI hosts its annual fundraiser, the Bridgeland Community Fun Run/Walk for Heroes. A portion of the funds raised go toward the ultimate goal: the development of a Veterans Memorial Park in Bridgeland. The initial 2014 design can be found below.
