WE SUPPORT OUR VETERANS

The Bridgeland Community Supports Veterans, Inc. is organized for the charitable purpose of planning, building and maintaining the Bridgeland Veterans Memorial Park in the Bridgeland Community in Cypress, TX, and to honor and support United States of America Armed Forces Veterans, especially those who are residents of the Bridgeland Community.

BOARD MEMBERS

Upon graduating from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, Bob became a United States Air Force fighter pilot serving in Vietnam. After his military service, he became a private business owner and an airline pilot with United Airlines. During that tenure, Bob served in the Middle East and Europe during Gulf War I. In addition, he has lived in Hong Kong and has traveled extensively throughout the world.

Bob is a Certified Financial Planner™, and as such deals with many complex financial issues.

Bob has been a SagePoint Advisor at the Energy Capital Credit Union since September 2006 and has become an expert in the field of NUA for Oil and Gas retirees.

Emilio is one of the Directors for the veterans group. He served 20 years in the US Army and retired from HISD as an instructor for the JROTC programs at Wheatley and Heights HS after 24 years. He wore his military uniform in service to our country for 44 years. His love for working and mentoring with his students/cadets have enabled him to continue serving his fellow veterans and the Bridgeland community.

Kay, an original founder of TBCSVI has served as Secretary and Board Director since 2015. She is an attorney having previously served as partner in several prominent firms. Kay’s past board director experiences include the Lakeland Village HOA Board and the Houston Young Lawyers Board. Kay was selected twice as the Outstanding Bridgeland Volunteer of the Year. Kay’s father and father-in law served in the Navy in WWII.

Education: BS Civil Engineering, Bucknell University; BS Industrial Management, Carnegie Mellon University

Bobby was in ROTC while attending Springhill College in Mobile, Alabama. Upon graduation in 1969, he entered the Army and was assigned to the Admin Company of the 1st Infantry Division (Big Red One) at Fort Riley, Kansas for his entire tour of duty. Upon discharge, he used the GI Bill to get an MBA from the University of South Alabama and study programs for the Texas CPA exam which he passed in 1978. In 1980, Bobby left public accounting and began a new career in commercial real estate, focusing on shopping centers, office buildings and restaurants. He is semi-retired now and spends his working time managing client’s real estate portfolios.

Keith Nystrom joined the US Army in 1982 working in Personnel, and served in Korea, Germany, and Ft Lewis, WA. In the 90’s he consulted in computer setup support and training, later he worked for major financial institutions providing computer support and training. In the Bridgeland community since 2013 he has been volunteering in various community roles and serving as the President of the Harris County Water Control & Improvement District #157 board since 2016.
